The Basic Formula for Garden Fresh Salsa
Basic ingredients:
6-9 tomatoes
1-2 onions (any kind)
1-2 jalapenos (remove membrane and seeds if you want to control the heat)
1-2 cloves garlic
1-2 tsp salt
black pepper to taste
2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice
Optional additions: cilantro, corn, black beans, bell peppers, mangoes, peaches
Directions:
Chop all the ingredients to your desired size - minced or super chunky - it's up to you!
Place them in a bowl and mix.
Add any optional ingredients - experiment and try something new!
Store in a container in the fridge for up to 7 days.
Note: Your salsa may be better the following day after the flavors have mingled in the bowl - see what you like better.
